Brendan E. McKeon, a partner of the firm, represents his clients in claims arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and Defense Base Act. He also handles civil and commercial litigation matters before state and federal trial courts. Mr. McKeon was a contributor to the "Zone of Special Danger" chapter of the Defense Base Act and War Hazards Compensation Act Handbook (LexisNexis, 2016).Mr. McKeon, as a former agency counsel in the federal government, has significant expertise in handling administrative claims brought pursuant to the Federal Tort Claims Act and is able to utilize this knowledge to assist federal contractors and insurers involved in Federal Tort Claims Act litigation. He also has experience dealing with corporations and insurers subject to Debt Collection Improvement Act proceedings.Mr. McKeon is admitted to practice before the state courts of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. He is also admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York and the District of New Jersey.Mr. McKeon received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University in 2001 and graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2006 as a recipient of the Alexander and Emily Mehr Memorial Prize for excellence in oral advocacy. At Brooklyn Law School, Mr. McKeon was a member of the Moot Court Honor Society and was a finalist at the Tulane National Sports Law Moot Court Competition. Also, as a member of the National Moot Court Team, he was a regional finalist at the New York City Bar National Moot Court Competition and was named the Best Oral Advocate for the New York/New Jersey region.
