Louis Belfiore earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Wagner College in 2004 and graduated from Brooklyn Law School in 2009. While in law school, he interned for the Honorable Allan L. Gropper, United States Bankruptcy Court, Southern District of New York. He also participated in Brooklyn Law School's international study abroad program in Beijing, China where he studied international trade and business transactions at the University of International Business and Economics.After graduating, he began his legal career litigating commercial disputes before the federal and state courts of New York in the areas of business and corporation law, maritime law, insurance subrogation, intermodal cargo transportation, and contract disputes. He also advised clients on corporate governance and transactional matters.Recently, Mr. Belfiore's practice has focused on the representation of clients in matters arising under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation Act and Defense Base Act and in proceedings brought pursuant to the War Hazards Compensation Act, including the resolution of matters before administrative tribunals and federal courts.Mr. Belfiore brings his federal court litigation experience to provide strategic guidance to and representation of clients in matters arising under the New York Workers' Compensation Law and the New Jersey Workers' Compensation Law.Mr. Belfiore is admitted to practice before the state courts in New York and New Jersey. He is also admitted to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
